Our Safety & Research Standards

We take public safety and bee health seriously.

• Assessment: Every captured swarm undergoes a health screening and behavioral assessment.

• Management: We practice the humane elimination of diseased or excessively aggressive colonies to prevent the spread of dangerous genetics or pathogens in our community.

• Survivors: Healthy, docile colonies that pass our rigorous screening are overwintered in high-performance insulated hives (Apimaye) to ensure their survival in the Flagstaff winter.
